Manav Rachna International University’s Students bagged the First Runner-Up Award at IATIA for the year 2016!
Solar Driven Car, a final year project of Automobile Engineering department of the Manav Rachna International University (MRIU), prepared by Students–Garvit Dudeja, Chirag Malhotra and Rais Raja has made them bag the 1st Runner-Up position in the ‘Student Innovator of the Year’ category at the Indian Automotive Technology and Innovation Awards (IATIA) for the year 2016.
The award was given for the application–‘Enhancement of Electric Vehicles with Safety Devices’. The designed and developed vehicle comprises of innovations such as Ultra-capacitor ; 3D Solar panel charging ; Electronic gadgets like G.P.S navigation system, Overloading sensing system and Security system ; Pre-collision indication, Chassis with impact indicating sensors ; Vehicle to vehicle communication using Bluetooth ; an Automatic roof water collector.
That apart, the team has also achieved stable efficiency through- charging the battery from the solar panels, fabricating vehicle chassis with high strength-light weight density, interfacing the controller with arduino to have less intake of current and initial power delivered to motor by ultra capacitor to eliminate voltage fluctuation of batteries.
Congratulating these young achievers for their feat, Dr. Prashant Bhalla, President, Manav Rachna Educational Institutions, said, “We at MREI do not just equip our students for academics, but inspire them to break new grounds and incubate new ideas and ventures. Our Students have shown great grit and determination in preparing the Solar Driven Car. I congratulate them on their creative excellence and path breaking project and wish them luck for their future endeavours.”
