Smt. Smriti Irani presides over the silver jubilee celebrations of Manav Rachna
This year marks the Silver Jubilee of Manav Rachna Educational Institutions. To commemorate this grand occasion, a Butterfly Garden was launched today at the Manav Rachna campus by Smt. Smriti Zubin Irani, Minister of Women and Child Development. The Hon’ble Minister was the ‘Guest of Honour’ at the Chapter 2 of the Education Leaders’ Summit organised at the MREI campus.
She also unveiled Manav Rachna’s 25 years logo and the Silver Jubilee anthem (sung in the voice of students of Manav Rachna International Schools). It is noteworthy that the lush green Manav Rachna campus is home to some rare species of flora and fauna. These include 10-11 species of butterflies (as per a survey by Bombay Natural History Society over the last 3 years). The rich biodiversity and environment of the campus has the potential to attract and sustain more species of butterflies. The presence of different butterfly species in the campus helps for natural monitoring of air quality in the campus. The MANAV RACHNA Butterfly Garden, a hotspot of biodiversity shall also contribute in further increasing the diversity of butterfly species inside the campus.
This was followed by the Chapter Two of Education Leaders Summit wherein she participated as the Guest of Honour.
In a live communion with students during the summit, Smriti ji shared some thoughtful advices and insights with the students. She said: “Life is about looking ahead; challenges will come and at the end of discomfort, lies a beautiful tomorrow. Find a balance, and you shall find, what you seek.” She also said, “To make education, democratized, you need to make sure that it is available in every spoken and known language. Children with disability don’t need pity but an ‘Equal Opportunity to All’ is the fulcrum of Education that needs attention. Skilling is the end goal but there is a whole process of educating the educators”.
Leading academicians and educationists are deliberating upon ‘Transformative Strength of Education for the World beyond COVID-19- Build Back Better’ during this two-day summit (August 13 & 14). Also present on the occasion were Smt. Satya Bhalla, Chief Patron, MREI; Dr. Prashant Bhalla, President, MREI; Dr. Amit Bhalla, Vice President, MREI; and principals of participating schools and other senior dignitaries. To mark the glory of MREI and to commemorate the Silver Jubilee, a series of events have been planned in the form of numerous activities and a host of exciting and talent igniting competitions, spread over the year, based on contemporary themes- Peace & Sustainability Crusader, Cultural Enthusiast, Advocate for Innovation, Torchbearer of Health & Well
