Health Camp at Ankhir Village
A health camp was organized at Ankhir Village, Faridabad by Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies under the aegis of Dr. O.P. Bhalla Foundation recently. The objective of the health camp was to provide free assessment of nutritional status and diet counseling to the common population by nutrition and physiotherapy professionals of MRIIRS. Ms. Varsha Sriavastava, Assistant Professor, along with post graduate students of Nutrition & Dietetics attended the health camp. A total of 50 people were provided counseling by the team.
The people were from different age groups & had problems like diabetes, low BP, hypertension, obesity and malnutrition. The elder people were suffering from knee, back and neck pain, and other types of musculoskeletal problems. Most of the female population was overweight and obese. The children in the age group of 6 to 10 years had issues related to oral hygiene and dental caries.
As per the requirements, students provided nutrition counseling on the basis of Body Mass Index (BMI), and dietary recommendations were prescribed to each person based upon the physiological status and nutrient requirements.
