Resettlement training program on ‘Library & Information Science’ for retired defence personnel culminates at MREI campus
Manav Rachna Academic Staff College (MRASC) conducted a six-month long program for retired/retiring defence personnel under the Director General for Resettlement program conducted By Ministry of Defense to meet the needs of Ex-Servicemen after their service to defence forces. As part of this program, the Central Ministry of Defence conducts Training on various courses. Over the last six months MRASC conducted a training program on ‘Library & Information Sciences’ for 40 defence personnel under the leadership of Brig. S N Setia, Executive Director-MRASC.
Dr. N C Wadhwa, Vice Chancellor, Manav Rachna International University was the Chief Guest for the culmination ceremony. He thanked the defence personnel for their dedication during the entire program and motivated them to be life-long learners. While addressing the participants, Dr. N.C. Wadhwa said, “Defence personnel are known to be highly disciplined. Your commitment and dedication during the entire program has set examples for the young learners. Heartiest congratulations on the successful completion of the course”.
The program dealt with various aspects of ‘Library & Information Sciences’ including introduction to computers and information processing. The participants thanked the officials at Manav Rachna Educational Institutions for such a structured program. While sharing their feedback on the program, one of the participants said: “The training was very useful for us. When we came for the training, we were not even aware about computers, but we are leaving as computer savvy individuals with information that will help us in the future.”
