Patents and IPRs unlocked at Manav Rachna International University

The Faculty of Applied Science, Manav Rachna International University in association with Manav Rachna Innovation & Incubation Centre organized a Faculty Development program on “INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS” at its campus today.
Mr. Bijay Kumar Sahu, Dy Manager (IPR) at National Research Development Corporation (NRDC), New Delhi was the speaker of the session. He has been working on IP & innovation Management and has facilitated filing of more than 350 patent applications of different universities/R&D Institutions/organizations in the country by providing report on patentability or novelty searches, state of art searches and technology landscapes. In the session which was attended by more than 70 faculty members, Mr. Sahu discussed the importance of Intellectual Property Rights & Innovation Management in Universities. He shared details of the common intellectual property rights (IPR) including trademarks, copyright, patents, industrial design rights, and jurisdictions trade secrets.
He also discussed the intricate details that play a very important role in development of innovative ideas and converting them into IPRs. Also present on the occasion was Dr. B S Gill, Director-MRIIC who urged the audience to continue in their innovative zeal as that is the demand of the hour. Dr. G.L.Khanna Dean, FAS emphasized the need to understand these process to strength the research & innovation at the university and to enhance the professional prospects.
