Eminent Professor of Manav Rachna International University receives great accolades from legendary hockey player Dhanraj Pillai at a Workshop in Gujarat on ‘Strength and Conditioning and Performance Analysis in Sports!
- – Dr G.L. Khanna, Dean, Faculty of Applied Sciences, Manav Rachna International University and President Asian Council of Exercise and Sports Sciences was lauded by former International and legendary Hockey player Shri Dhanraj Pillai for his seminal contribution and scientific inputs in changing the concept of training and coaching in India which had greatly benefitted Indian Hockey players in particular.
- – Dr Khanna delivered key lectures at the workshop on issues pertaining to ‘Adaptations to training and Strength & Conditioning’ along with ‘Different physiological aspects of adaptations to strength training in High performance sportspersons’ and the ‘Physiology of Endurance
- – The 5 days ‘Certificate Course in Strength and Conditioning and Performance Analysis in Sports’ was organised by the Department of Advance Training and Coaching, Swarnim Gujarat Sports University, Gandhinagar and Sports Authority of Gujarat, Gandhinagar.
Manav Rachna International University was in the spotlight recently when Dr G.L. Khanna, Dean, Faculty of Applied Sciences, Manav Rachna International University and President Asian Council of Exercise and Sports Sciences, was lauded by Shri Dhanraj Pillai, legendary hockey player and expert coach at a 5 day ‘Certificate Course in Strength and Conditioning and Performance Analysis in Sports’ which was held at the Department of Advance Training and Coaching, Manjalpur Sports Complex, Vadodara. The event was held under the aegis of Department of Advance Training and Coaching, Swarnim Gujarat Sports University, Gandhinagar and Sports Authority of Gujarat.
The aim of the workshop was to upgrade the training concepts of Coaches for the preparation of high performance athletes. Around 37 SAG Coaches of different games and sports participated in this Workshop which focused primarily on strength and conditioning with special reference to performance analysis.
Shri Dhanraj Pillai, legendary hockey player and expert coach graced the occasion as Chief Guest. He expressed great admiration for Dr G.L. Khanna and pointed out that both Dr G.L. Khanna of Manav Rachna International University and Dr. Oleksandr Krasilshchikov of ESSP, School of Health Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia.had been instrumental in changing the concept of training and coaching in India, contributing greatly towards uplifting the standard of Hockey in India.
Prof. G. L. Khanna delivered key lectures on ‘Adaptations to training and Strength & Conditioning’, ‘the different physiological aspects involved in strength training in high performance sportspersons’ and on ‘Physiology of Endurance’.
Coaches actively participated in the discussions where experts shared their practical experiences of Sports.
