World Tourism Day celebrations by our budding hoteliers!
The World Tourism Day (WTD) is celebrated internationally on September 27, 2017 to mark the spirit of tourism and cherish the privilege of hosting visitors. On the same lines, students of semester III, B.Sc. Hospitality & Hotel Administration went on an academic visit to the Qutub Complex, New Delhi. This visit was organized in conjunction with the Archaeological Survey of India and the Tourism Board.
Students and faculty members were received and welcomed by Mr. Munazzar Ali (Assistant Superintendent-ASI Delhi circle). As a part of the WTD-2017 and a simultaneous ‘Swachhta Pakhwada’, the students were administered a ‘Swachhta pledge’ and committed themselves to the cause of clean and sustainable India. They welcomed the tourists by receiving them at the gate, presenting them rose buds and garlands. Tourists were informed about the significance of the World Tourism Day. Students also contributed to the cleanliness drive and conducted an on-the- spot awareness campaign. It was an extensive exposure and experience for the students while they interacted with the domestics as well as international tourists.
