Workshop on Techno-Managerial Challenges and Recent Trends in Aeronautical Engineering
A workshop on Techno-Managerial Challenges and Recent Trends in Aeronautical Engineering was organized by the Aeronautical Engineering Department of FET, MRIU, on 16th May 2015. Dr. Satish Kumar, Distinguished Scientist and Chief Controller R&D (Technology Management) of DRDO, was the keynote speaker. Dr. Satish Kumar was received by the Executive Director & Dean of FET, Dr. MK Soni. In his address, Dr. Satish Kumar emphasized upon the need of a vision for emerging India to be a fully developed and secure nation with high human development index.
Towards this, he highlighted the key areas as education, health, agriculture, industrial development, technology leadership and strong defense forces. According to him, technology education, collaborative research and keeping the nation and society secure should be our agenda for the future. He briefly discussed how technology is delivered, its security dimensions conceived, the technology initiatives and the development challenges faced in DRDO.
He also discussed how the DRDO-academia-industry interface is expected to lead to new scientific knowledge, self-reliance, product development and intellectual property thereby achieving a strong indigenous technology base in the country. He deliberated on the procedure for sponsored research and how DRDO allots funds and monitors the progress in research.
