Workshop On Intellectual Property Rights Awareness
Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies (MRIIRS) and Haryana State Council for Science & Technology jointly organized a workshop on ‘Intellectual Property Rights Awareness’ on 20th March 2018 to raise awareness about Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) among the present generation.
The workshop was inaugurated at the campus in the presence of Dr. M.K. Soni, Pro Vice Chancellor, MRIIRS; Dr. Krishna Kant, ED & Dean, Faculty of Engineering & Technology, MRIIRS; Dr. Pradeep K. Varshney, Director, Manav Rachna Innovation and Incubation Centre (MRIIC); Dr. Patrali Banerjee, Associate Prof & IPR Head, Manav Rachna; and Ms. Mayuri Sen Gupta, IPR Manager, Regional Center for Biotechnology.
The eminent resource persons of the workshop included Dr. Yashawant Dev Panwar, Scientist E, Patent Facilitation Centre, TIFAC, Department of Science & Technology, New Delhi; Mr. Avipsha Thakur, Assistant Vice-President, Cell for IPR Promotion and Management (CIPAM), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Govt. of India; and Mr. Nilanshu Shekhar, IPR Consultant.
Highlighting the importance of patents and IPR, Dr. M.K. Soni said, “It is essential to ensure whether our specific idea is unique or not by investigating domestic as well international patents”. Ms. Banerjee brought the IPR Cell of Manav Rachna to the limelight.
Dr. Pradeep K. Varshney reiterated few major facts about the IPR so far while Dr. Krishna Kant emphasized on the awareness to be spread about IPR.
