Workshop on Hardware based System Design
Faculty of Computer Applications, MRIIRS organized a workshop on April 22, 2019 on “Hardware (FPGA) based System Design for Cryptography Applications and its Cryptanalysis (Hardware Trojan)” technically supported by IEEE Computer Society, Delhi Section; CSI Student Chapter, MRIIRS and ACM Student Chapter, MRIIRS.
The workshop was inaugurated by Dr M K Soni, Pro-Vice Chancellor, MRIIRS. The inaugural session started with an address by Dr. Shaveta Bhatia, HoD, FCA. She motivated the participants to learn the concepts of hardware based cryptography through hands-on experience. Dr. S. S. Tyagi, Dean FCA enlightened the participants about the Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA), an integrated circuit that is capable of being reprogrammed in the field after being manufactured.
The resource person for the workshop was Dr. K K Soundra Pandian from IIITDM, Jabalpur. In the first technical session he covered: Basics of Cryptography, Hardware Level Cryptography, Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) algorithm implementation on FPGA. In the second session, he gave the participants practical exposure to the Xilinx FPGA platform.
The faculty members from relevant departments of MRIIRS and students of MCA programme took part in the workshop. All participants were given certificates of participation.
