A workshop on ‘Gender Sensitization’ was organized by the Faculty of Law for its first-year students on 10 September 2020. Held in online mode on the Zoom online platform, the distinguished speaker for the workshop was Dr. Archana Bhatia. She had been an Associate Professor of commerce for over 30 years at D.A.V. Centenary College, Faridabad and is currently the Head of Department for the commerce division. In addition to her passion for teaching, she is involved in several research works, literary pursuits and community service.

She started her discussion by explaining the meaning of gender-based violence and how this phenomenon was deeply rooted in society and resulted in human rights violation. She also highlighted the fact that women are the most affected constituents of society and the key source of this malaise was the power inequality between the sexes. This discussion was highly informative and helpful to students who took active part in discussing this burning issue with the guest speaker.
