Workshop on Games as a Pedagogical Practice
Faculty of Education, Manav Rachna University organized a guest workshop on “Games as a Pedagogical Practice” by Dr. Shabda Nirfani Bedi, Head-University Resource Centre at Azim Premji Foundation. She is an expert in the field of joyful learning techniques and reflective practices. She is actively involved in organizing capacity building programs with SCERT, DIETs and Regional Institutes of Education across the nation.
The workshop was attended by B.Ed students, faculty members and M.Sc. (Mathematics) students from Department of Mathematics, Manav Rachna University who have enrolled for a course on Pedagogical Skills under Choice Based Credit System with Department of Education.
An interactive session which also included a card game gave an insight into human behavior and their association with the hierarchy of numbers which we traditionally follow. She emphasized on creating a balance between content mastery and making it a joyful learning experience at the same time. She concluded her session by sharing a video-clip about role played by a progressive sensitive facilitator in the life of a child, leaving students with ample food for thought.
