Workshop on Emerging Automotive Technologies
Department of Automobile Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET), Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies (MRIIRS) organized a workshop on ‘Emerging Automotive Technologies’ in association with SAE Collegiate Club from 22nd to 24th January 2018. The workshop was graced by the presence of Dr. Krishan Kant, ED and Dean, FET, MRIIRS; Mr. M. K. Soni, Pro VC, MRIIRS; and Mr. Devendra Vashisht, HoD, Department of Automobile Engineering, MRIIRS.
Resource Persons for the workshop are Mr. Ashish Parmar, Manager, Maruti Udyog Limited; and Mr. Pawan Sharma, Manager, Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India Limited. Also present at the inauguration was Dr. Reji Mithai, GM, IOCL who gave a presentation on ‘Emerging Technologies and Eco-system’ and its various aspects.
Mr. Devendra said that Automobile Sector is looking for trained and skilled manpower that can imagine and ultimately innovate. He also mentioned that there will be an industrial visit to Inshu Auto Engineers Pvt. Ltd, Faridabad on the third day of the workshop that will help the students to understand the various aspects of the sector. Dr. Krishan Kant, ED and Dean, FET said that in India, we are aiming at Biometric Vehicle Access that will be the next big step in the field of automobile technology.
Dr. M. K. Soni, Pro VC, MRIIRS presented a short background of Manav Rachna Educational Institutions and said, “The workshop on ‘Emerging Automobile Technologies’ is very relevant for the students as technology standards keep on updating from time to time and students need to be aware of all of them”.
The inaugural function set the path right for the three-day workshop and we hope it to be a great success
