Dr. Prema Ramachandra also demonstrated the accurate procedures of measuring height, mid-upper arm, waist and hip circumference. She also highlighted the importance of accuracy, precision and standardization of inter and intra observers and anthropometric instruments in nutritional assessment especially among young children. Students had a great learning experience, wherein they were able to practice all the anthropometric procedures along with standardization and calibration of instruments.
Department is thankful to Dr. Prema Ramachandra, Director, NFI without her support the visit would not have been possible. Department is also thankful to Ms. Honey and Ms. Amrita (PhD Scholars) for providing hands on training on anthropometric measurements to the students. We are also very grateful to Registrar (MRIIRS) and the transport department for extending all the support in facilitating this.
