MREI ushered in the New Year with the Maha Mrityunjaya Yajna to pray for peace, prosperity and happiness of all
In keeping with the sacred traditions of Manav Rachna Educational Institutions (MREI), the Maha Mrityunjaya Yajna was held at the campus to seek the divine blessings for overall peace and prosperity of all members of the MREI family. MREI organizes the Maha Mritunjaya Yagna every year to begin the New Year on a spiritual note culminating with the Purnahuti and Bhandara which was held at the campus here today. The Yajna, which began from December 27, 2016 continued right till January 2, 2017, as a harbinger of peace, happiness, success and security. The occasion also brought together the entire Manav Rachna fraternity to seek the blessings of the Almighty while fostering a sense of oneness and unity. Hon’ble Justice, Supreme Court of India (Retd.) Sh. Anil R. Dave was the Chief Guest of the special occasion accompanied by his wife Ms. Meena Dave.
The Yajna began with the Havan by the Management, VCs, Executive Directors, Heads of Institutions, Principals and Directors. The auspicious occasion infused the congregation with a sense of piety as all associates of MREI along with their family bonded over Havan and Bhandara which had been organized in keeping with MREI’s traditional ethos and philosophy.
As many as 81 members of the Manav Rachna family were awarded in recognition of their 10 years of dedicated and continued service. The occasion’s sublime mood reached its zenith with the lyrical bhajan renditions of Siddharth Mohan whose mellifluous voice mesmerized the gathering.
Wishing everyone a very Happy New Year, Hon’ble Justice, Supreme Court of India (Retd.) Sh. Anil R. Dave, said, “Education is the best gift you can gift to the society and I appreciate the sincere efforts of Manav Rachna in providing quality education. I also appreciate Manav Rachna’s tradition of providing awards and recognition to the members who have completed 10 years of successful service with the institution.”
Addressing the gathering, Ms. Satya Bhalla, Chief Patron, MREI, said, “I wish everyone a very Happy and Prosperous New Year. We hope the unity and oneness which is prevalent in the Manav Rachna family will go a long way in actualizing the mission and vision of Founder Visionary Dr O.P. Bhalla.” While talking about the significance of ‘havan’, Ms Satya Bhalla explained that such a ceremony “purifies both the soul and environment paving the way for a future that is bound to be fruitful and positive.”
Wishing everyone in the New Year, Dr Prashant Bhalla, President, MREI, said, “New Year is a time to rededicate ourselves towards carrying forward the legacy of our Founder Father Dr O.P. Bhalla. It is also a time for recollections of the year gone by and seek inspiration through new hopes and promises so as to transform our goals into reality. Year 2016 ended on a positive note with Manav Rachna International University being conferred with the very prestigious QS star rating. Also, I urge that in the coming year we take every possible step and work towards making India a Digital nation.”
He apprised the gathering about the visit of former HRD Minister Ms Smriti Irani hoisting Indian flag at the Manav Rachna Campus on the occasion of International Women’s Day. He even informed that Manav Rachna is starting of its Law faculty today on this special occasion.
