Two Weeks E-FDP in Entrepreneurship Development Program
To impart the nuances of entrepreneurship, a two-week Faculty Development Program on ‘Entrepreneurship Development’ was inaugurated recently at Manav Rachna. This program was organized by the Faculty of Management Studies in association with Manav Rachna New Gen IEDC and supported by AICTE, New Delhi. Around 64 faculty mentors from institutions across pan India participated in the E FDP.
The inaugural session was addressed by Dr. Meghna Chhabra who set down the context of the program. She presented the full program report comprising speakers’ and participants’ profiles and shared glimpses of the sessions conducted in the forthcoming two weeks. She also expressed a strong need for avoidance of curricula stagnation in entrepreneurship education. Along with her team of coordinators, Dr. Rajender Kumar, Assistant Professor, FET and Mr. Kartik Rampal, Program Coordinator, NewGen IEDC, thanked AICTE for giving the opportunity and support for conducting the FDP and the senior management at Manav Rachna for the everlasting support to create and boost the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the institution.
The chief guest of the event was Dr. Niharika Vohra, Vice-Chancellor, Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University, Delhi. She shared contemporary insights on entrepreneurship and its treatment as a subject. She emphasized the Innovation and Research roles in the present scenario. The audiences highly appreciated her astute and state-of-the-art inputs.
Furthermore, Dr. Monika Goel, Chief Coordinator, NewGen IEDC and Dean FCBS, took a formal discussion on the program objectives. She also took the dignitaries and the participants through the virtual tour of the campus.
Prof. (Dr.) Naresh Grover, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, MRIIRS, added to this the role of educational institutes and discussed the roadmap developed by various government agencies like UGC, AICTE, and many more in designing and developing the culture to promote entrepreneurial education. He also talked about the various schemes of the Government of India fostering the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the country.
The Special Guest of the event was Dr. Ravindra Kumar Soni, Director, AICTE. He spoke about the vision and the mission for AICTE-ATAL Initiative and highlighted the achievements to date. He specifically mentioned that there might be many business ideas, but turning them into actual entrepreneurial action is the main achievement and reveals the dedication of an entrepreneur. He hugely appreciated the team at Manav Rachna for conducting the meaningful and well-organized program.
The program’s welcome address was given by the honorable Vice-Chancellor, MRIIRS, Prof. (Dr.) Sanjay Srivastava. During his address, he touched the vision of our founder, visionary Late (Dr.) O.P. Bhalla. Dr. Sanjay motivated all the participants to keep upgrading the knowledge repository and enhancing professionalism in teaching. He shared rich inputs on the personality traits to be inculcated for increased dynamism.
The concluding remarks and vote of thanks were presented by Prof. (Dr.) Deepti, Director, FMS. She added the requisition of designs and innovation in the present day as an aspirant perspective from Higher Educational Institutions.
