Tongue Twister Competition- 27th July 2015
TONGUE TWISTER, an event based on recitation of puzzling tongue twisters ranging from easy to a challenging level, was organized by Manav Rachna Literary Forum under the Department of Students Welfare, Manav Rachna International University on 27th July 2015 in A Block (AG 29) from 11 am to 2 pm.
The event, which saw a lot of laughter and frolic, had a participation of 24 teams (48 participants) coming from different faculties around the campus and was judged by Ms. Romika (Asstt. Professor, FMeS) and Ms. Ayushi Singh Chaudhary(Coordinator, Students Welfare).
This fun literary event comprised of 3 rounds. In the first round each team had to recite 1 very short but tricky tongue twister for 15s repeatedly. For the 2nd round, each team was given three 1-liner tongue twisters to be recited for 10s repeatedly. On the basis of the combined score of 1st and 2nd round, 6 teams qualified to the 3rd and the most challenging round of the competition, in which teams had to recite a paragraph long tongue twister in one go. The teams were judged on two parameters: Clarity and Speed, including their confidence on stage.
Prof. I.K. Kilam, Dean Students Welfare graced the occasion with his esteemed presence and concluded the event by motivating the participants to take part in more such events. The winners of the event Yash Anand (1st sem/BBA/FCH) and Hemant Goyal(1st Sem/BBA/FCH) took home a pair of Skull Candy headphones each as the prize along with the certificates. All the students were given Certificates of Appreciation for their participation.
