[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET), Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies (MRIIRS) in association with The Institution of Engineers (India) – Faridabad Local Centre organized a Technical Lecture Meeting Webinar on ‘Transition to Cyclic Process of Waste Management’ on April 17, 2021.

The eminent panellists of the webinar were Er. Ranjjit Shetty, Director, Gangotree Energy Projects (P) Ltd, CIPL Resurge (P) Ltd.; Dr. Sunita Bansal, Professor and Head of Department, Department of Civil Engineering, FET, MRIIRS and Dr. A. K. Haritash, Associate Professor, Department of Environmental Engineering, Delhi Technological University.

Er. I. S. Oberoi, FIE, Director, A. D. Global Synergies Pvt. Ltd. and Dr. Rajender Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, FET, MRIIRS were the Moderators of the event.

The technical lecture was started with the welcome address by Er. Sandeep Handa, FIE, Chairman, IE(I), Faridabad Local Centre. The first session was delivered by Dr. A. K. Haritash, who covered the present scenario of Climate Change, Green House Gases and technology paradigm.

Dr. Haritash also covered trending Coconut Waste Processing Technology for waste management, including its advantages and market potential. Er. Ranjjit Shetty talked about the various environmental challenges caused by improper waste management. He then emphasized on the current situation of Municipal Solid Waste in India, and the various techniques for plastic recycling. The last lecture was delivered by Dr. Sunita Bansal. Dr. Bansal covered the theme related to sustainable materials. The session focused on the topics such as Ecological Footprints, Earth Natural System and Embodied Energy of Building Materials. Dr. Bansal also discussed the material’s classification on the basis of energy as per the latest revision of the National Building Code (NBC) – 2017. The session was concluded by sharing information about the need of Cyclic Waste Management and Sustainable Materials and Concrete.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
