A team of three engineers including Dr B.S.Gill, Ms Prachie Sharma and Mr Amit Kumar Singh from Manav Rachna participated in Green-a-Thon event held under the aegis of ‘Rajasthan Digifest 2018’, organized by Government of Rajasthan at Jaipur recently. ‘Green-a-Thon’ or the Green Hackathon was one-of-its kind three day round the clock event encouraging young problem solvers & innovative think tanks to create and implement new ideas for a more sustainable future. The contest was organized by Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board.
Team Parimukh presented the project on ‘Air Pollution Mitigation’ competing with over 600 teams from all over the country.
It is a matter of great pride that our team PARIMUKH was adjudged as the Winner (First Prize), and was awarded with trophies and ‘certificates of merit’ and an assistance of Rs. Fifteen lakh for carrying forward the project.
The ‘Air Pollution Mitigation’ project deals with cleaning atmospheric air by filtration through filters fitted on vehicles. As the vehicles move through the city, the polluted air passes through the filters and gets cleaned. A large number of vehicles on the city roads are facilitating air pollution mitigation in an effective way.
The movement of vehicles throughout the city assures that all parts of the city are cleaned. There is also no additional energy expense involved. The filter elements of ‘Air Pollution Mitigation’ will need cleaning/replacement after six months to one year with minimal annual maintenance expenditure.
Heartiest congratulations to the team for yet another big win!
