Talent Hunt for Bhutanese Students and Delegates
With greetings in heart and smile on faces, members from Department of Students’ Welfare, MRIU welcomed the Students and Delegates from Bhutan. A group of 38 Bhutanese along with few students of Manav Rachna gathered at the MANCH (behind T – Block) on March 16, 2017.
As part of their training on Health and Fitness camp, these students came across miles to learn and share knowledge in India. To entertain them and exchange their cultural views a ‘Talent Hunt’ was organized for them. The event started with the interesting ‘Jugalbandi’ of Anchors of the evening, Sonal Prasad (3rd yr CS, FET – MRIU) and Athang Potwar (3rd yr Mech. FET – MRIU). They grabbed the attention of the audience by welcoming them and greeting them in Bhutanese and got a huge response in return.
Further to the show, a dazzling dance performance was presented by Khushbu Jha and Prayush Palak , 2nd yr students of MRIU which was highly applauded by the audience. Performance was a booster to the Bhutan delegates and they themselves volunteered to perform to the ‘Desi Beats’. Paima, delegate from Bhutan presented a piece of dance and astonished everyone by performing to a Bollywood song. In continuation, Shezen, Pema Jigs, Naimgil and others felt free to get up and showcase their talent in the field of dance, music and poetry. A student delegate, Tashi recited shayari in Hindi which surprised everyone. Raman Bidhuri (Coordinator- MRIDAKSH) student of 3yr CS, MRIU gave a power – packed dance performance and made the audience erupt in joy.
Later, after back to back breathtaking performances by the Bhutanese Student delegates, another dance performance by Members of Mridaksh was displayed comprising different dance styles from all across the globe. Mamta, Diksha Bhati, Prayush Palak and Avni Ablash, students from B.tech 2nd Year made everyone join the stage with them and no one could stop tapping their feet. Dr. I.K. Kilam was present throughout the event and encouraged the students to perform and gave them chocolates in appreciation of their talents. With a happy end, he gave a vote of thanks and wished to meet the same group again with more of such power – packed performances.
The Talent show was a great success as two different cultures came together on the same platform and earned accolades from the audience.
