Students visited Central Soil and Materials Research Station
A visit to Central Soil and Materials Research Station (CSMRS), New Delhi was organized by the Department of Civil Engineering for its students recently.
CSMRS, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India, is a premier institute in the country located in New Delhi. It deals with field and laboratory investigations, basic and applied research, and problems in Geotechnical engineering, construction materials and allied fields relevant to the river valley projects within India and abroad.
Students of B.Tech and M.Tech Civil Engineering went for the visit with Ms. Anjali Gupta & Ms Sunita Bansal. They visited the following labs: Soil Mechanics; Soil Dynamics; Rockfill Technology; Evaluation of Existing Hydraulic Structures; Subsurface Exploration; Construction Materials Characterization; Design of Concrete Mixes; Studies on Alkali Aggregate Reaction; New Construction Techniques; and Water Quality and Geophysical Investigations.
It was really very informative and enlightening for the students as well as faculty members. Students were apprised about various opportunities such as training programs in CSMRS and various projects that are running in CSMRS for training and internship.
