State level Training on Sustainable Development and Management of Groundwater Resources
Three day duration training course on Sustainable Development and Management of Groundwater Resources is being jointly organized by Central Ground Water Board (CGWB), North Western Region, Chandigarh, Jal Shakti Mantralaya Govt of India (GOI) and Centre for Advance Water Technology and Management (CAWTM), MRIIRS from January 2 to 4, 2020.
The course was inaugurated by Chairman CGWB, Shri K C Naik and was presided over by Dr. M K Soni, Pro V C MRIIRS. Dr. D K Chadha, Chair professor CAWTM, MRIIRS; Dr. H C Rai, Dean FET, MRIIRS, and Shri Anoop Nagar, Regional Director, CGWB, NWR were present as a special guest during the inauguration function.
The training course was attended by 22 participants from various organizations such as Municipal Corporation of Faridabad, Delhi University, Ram Lal Anand College, JNU, Kurukshetra University, and faculty and research students from CAWTM.
In the inaugural address, Dr. Chadha emphasized on the management of Groundwater resources of Haryana and stressed on the management of saline aquifers. Chairman CGWB gave a brief description of the initiative taken up by CGWB and GOI for sustainable management of groundwater resources. Prof A Mukherjee proposed the vote of thanks.
