Shri Anuj Dayal, DMRC delivered a lecture on ‘PR and Crisis Communication’
Shri Anuj Dayal, Executive Director, Corporate Communications, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) delivered an interactive lecture on “PR and Crisis Communication” at Faculty of Media Studies and Humanities recently for fourth Semester students of Journalism and Mass Communication, and Post Graduate Diploma in Advertising and Public Relations.
The objective of the lecture was to give students an overview of contemporary public relations practices and guide them in dealing with a crisis communication situation.
Mr. Dayal shared his experience from the launch of DMRC’s first line from Shahdara to Tees Hazari wherein they employed various means of communication to make people comfortable. He said, “The job of a PR communicator is not just to impart information but it is also about how to incorporate the desired behavioural change in the people”.
Citing the examples of DMRC crisis in 2007 and 2009 where few people died in the launcher crash at DMRC site, He said, “Honest and accurate information helped DMRC in managing the crisis and helped us in regaining credibility.”
