SkillEd India and RASCI jointly launch a Digital Learning Portal on LMS Platform for skilling the RetailSector
SkillEd India (JV of Manav Rachna Educational Institutions and Kunskapsskolan Education) and the Retailers Association’s Skill Council of India (RASCI) launched a Digital Learning Portal on LMS Platform for the Retail sector.
The portal was formally inaugurated in an online ceremony by Dr. Manish Kumar, MD & CEO of National Skill Development Council (NSDC) in the presence of Mr.Avijit Mitra, CEO of RASCI &Chairman, Infiniti Retail Ltd (Tata Group); Mr. Frederic Widell, VP – Head of South Asia & MD – Oriflame India;Mr. Peje Emilsson, Executive Chairman, Kunskapsskolan Education, Sweden; Dr. Prashant Bhalla, President, Manav Rachna Educational Institutions (MREI); Ms. Cecilia Carnefeldt, CEO and President – Kunskapsskolan Education, Mr. Anders Bauer, Group Executive VP, Kunskapsskolan Education; Dr. Amit Bhalla, VP, MREI; Mr. James Raphael, Executive Head – RASCI and Joint Central Apprenticeship Adviser –MSDE, GoIand Mr. Rajiv Mathur, CEO of SkillEd India.
Each course, under the Retail sector has on an average more than 800 videos/ animations, slide shows with audios, Interactive webpage and PDF’s to enhance the learning and to show best practices for practical demonstrations.All courses are available in Hindi and English. Trainees can choose one of the preferred languages for their learning at the start of the program.
While sharing details of the LMS platform launched, Dr. Prashant Bhalla said: “The courses for Schools from 9th to 12th are NSQF compliant and have been created in consultation with the Retail Skill Council, NSDC and PSSCIVE Bhopal. With interactive resources embedded in the school course, it gives a thorough training on concepts and practical demonstrations. These online courses prepare students, for taking up job as Store Operations Assistant or Trainee Associate.In addition, it will prepare the student for passing their final board examination successfully, for this vocational subject. We are thankful to RASCI for supporting us and certifying the courses offered under the portal”.
For accessing the online courses for the Retail Sector Skill Council, the access will be via Sector Skill Council website, www.rasci.in which will lead to a seamless entry onto the landing page of KEDSKILLS portal for registration with phone and email authentication, course selection, doing course fee payments via payment gateway and finally getting the automated login-id and passwords via email.
“RASCI has rightly chosen the popular courses to launch on this On-line Digital Learning Portal. This will be a wonderful opportunity for today’s youth, to acquire specialized knowledge and job specific skills pertaining to Retail”said Mr.AvijitMitra.
Mr. Frederic Widell said “This is a unique platform that will help professionals in recognizing their knowledge and skills. It will help them understand the gaps of where they are currently, and what they need to do in order to bridge that gap. This will motivate them to perform better and Deliver best”.
One unique feature of the online digital vocational content is that its digital content has been designed, developed and crafted using the KED Learning Methodology framework from Kunskapsskolan Education – Sweden. Further elaborating on the collaboration, Mr. Peje Emilssonsaid: “I am hopeful that this association will empower students with the right skill set and knowledge, build their confidence by enhancing their communication and interpersonal skills through practical hands-on activities and real-time experiences, make them technology-savvy with its digital approach, and ultimately enable them to take on these different roles with complete confidence”.
