Short Term Course on Optical Fibre Potential and Applications
With a view of providing a platform to explore in-depth knowledge sharing for the latest technology and development in optical fiber by eminent professors and scientists, Department of Physics, Faculty of Engineering & Technology (FET), Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies (MRIIRS) has conducted one-week short term course for teacher’s fraternity on “Optical Fibers: Potential and Applications” from 18th to 22nd December 2017 through ICT in collaboration with National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR), Chandigarh.
The Program was coordinated and successfully completed by Prof. (Dr.) Devi Singh, HOD and Mr. Sandeep Srivastava, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics, FET, MRIIRS. Faculty members from various departments of MRIIRS and Manav Rachna University (MRU) attended this short-term course. This one-week program proved beneficial for the faculty participants as wide coverage of newer technologies and applications were discussed and demonstrated by the resource persons.
The various sessions of the course were encompassed by renowned persons from NITTTR, Chandigarh and CSIO Chandigarh viz. Dr. B. C. Choudhary, NITTTR, Chandigarh; Dr. J. K. Chhabra, EX Scientist (CSIO); Dr. S. C. JAIN, EX Chief Scientist (CSIO); Dr. Umesh Tiwari, Scientist (CSIO); Dr. Randhir Bhatnagar, Chief Scientist, CSIR-CSIO, and Er. Navjot Kaur, NITTTR.
In this STC the following topics were discussed in detail:
1. Fiber Optics Technology – An overview
