Students attended a session on “Succeeding in a Digital Age” by Mr. Amitabh Verma.
The tradition of Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), MRIIRS, of industry guest lectures moves forward with an engaging session on “Succeeding in a Digital Age” by Mr. Amitabh Verma, CEO and Founder of AMP Digital, a Digital Marketing firm that offers products and services to the sales and marketing community. AMP Digital runs Ads4growth, a Google Partner agency; AMP DigitalNet, a training company, and Newsapp.io, a news aggregator. Prior to this, Mr. Amitabh Verma was the Head of SMB Services for Google India and ICICI Bank. An alumnus of IIM Kozhikode and Delhi School of Economics, he was rated amongst the top 100 Digital Marketers in India by Paul Writer and Plural Sight survey in 2017.
The MBA students got a peep into the digital marketing domain and its significance in the present world sales. Besides stressing on the importance of coding, Mr. Amitabh busted the myth that coding is a suitable sector for technicians only. He asserted that it could be learnt by anyone and used as a tool for digital innovation in this digital era. Amongst the various pearls of wisdom shared during the interaction, some basic advice to make a mark rendered to the students was to be informed, have an opinion, create something new and be “not only consumers but also creators”. He also told the students that to be recognized, one must specialize in atleast one area that he/she is passionate about and to know more about it than anyone else in their peer group.
Mr. Amitabh also emphasized upon the need for “big picture thinking”, “fellowship at work”, “paying forward or spreading what you have received from others” and “hustle” or communicating about your product or service in the online world as a mandatory sales activity.
The lecture acquainted everyone with the leader within oneself and how they can transform their future into a successful career in the digital marketing sector.
