Session on “Early access to Justice at Pre-Arrest, Arrest & Remand Stage”
Department of Students Welfare in association with the District Legal Services Authority organised a session on “Early access to Justice at Pre-Arrest, Arrest & Remand Stage” to observe Vigilance Awareness Week under Aazadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav recently. The session witnessed the presence of Sh. Manglesh Kumar Choubey, Chief Judicial Magistrate cum Secretary Faridabad; Dr. N.C. Wadhwa, Director-General MREI; Sh. R.K. Arora, Registrar MRIIRS; Dr. Gurjeet Kaur Chawla, Dean Students Welfare and Director Radio Manav Rachna, Police Officials, Advocates and students.
Dr. N.C. Wadhwa apprised the audience with the importance of being a vigilant citizen and how laws play a vital role in one’s life. He also talked about the implementation of laws for the betterment of the nation and said such kinds of events should be done regularly for the awareness of students and the community.
In continuation, Sh. Manglesh Choubey talked about various rules and regulations to be followed during the Pre-Arrest, Arrest & Remand Stage and how they are different from each other and also shared his views on how a woman or a juvenile should be arrested or presented in front of the court. He talked about how important it is for a common man to know about his rights and to be a vigilant citizen of the country.
Integrity Pledge was taken by everyone present during the event and everyone promised to be a vigilant citizen and committed to the highest standards of honesty and integrity at all times.
