Selection of MRIIRS student under Technical Student Programme at CERN, Geneva, Switzerland
It is a matter of pride and honour to share that Aashlesha Sharma, a student of 3rd year B.Tech Mechanical Engineering, FET, MRIIRS has been selected as a Technical Student at CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research), the world’s largest Nuclear and Particle Physics Laboratory, best known as operator of the Large Hadron Collider situated at Geneva, Switzerland with a monthly stipend of 3283 CHF (~ 2,24,130.05 INR) and travel allowances. Aashlesha is among the 30 students who have been selected worldwide. Only five students- three from IITs, one from BHU, Varanasi and one from MRIIRS have been selected for this prestigious Technical Student Programme at CERN this year.
At CERN, physicists and engineers are probing the fundamental structure of the universe. Founded in 1954, the CERN laboratory sits astride the Franco-Swiss border near Geneva. It is one of the Europe’s first joint ventures which now has 22 member states including India as an associate member state with a contribution of Rs. 78 crores approx from the year 2017. It is renowned for the discoveries that include ‘God Particle’, ‘World Wide Web’, ‘LHC’, Charge Parity Violation’ and many other Noble Prize winning inventions.

Aashlesha Sharma has a keen interest in the field of Astrophysics and related sciences.
