Round Table Conference – Achieving World peace through Equity and Social Justice.
Manav Rachna Faculty of Law along with Manav Rachna Centre for Peace and Sustainability conducted an event for the World Social Justice Day,” A Round Table Conference – Achieving World peace through Equity and Social Justice”.
76 participants including the students and faculties joined the session. The United Nations (UN) world day of Social Justice is annually observed on February 20th to encourage people to look at how social justice affects poverty eradication. To mark this day the conference focused on the goal of achieving full employment and support for social integration.
The speakers for the conference was:
Mr Anand Saurabh, Indian Information Service Officer of Public Relations, Ministry of Defence.
Dr Piyush Kant, Assistant Professor TISS, Mumbai.
Dr Swapnil Dhanraj, Assistant Professor, O. P Jindal Law School, Sonipat, Haryana.
The speakers not only explained the relevance of these topics with respect to the international arena but also described these words in the context of Indian society. Mr. Anand Saurabh explained the theoretical understanding behind these terms “equity and social justice”. He further explained these terms independently as well as their interlinkages with each other.
Dr Piyush Kant laid his emphasis on the Digital Economy with respect to World Peace and Dr. Swapnil Dhanraj led a foundation of the terms Equity and Social Justice with respect to the Indian Society. This was followed by a question and answers session and ended with a vote of thanks.
