Road Safety Seminar : 31st August 2015
Department of Students Welfare and Indian Institute of Road Traffic Education (IRTE), Faridabad in partnership with the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Government of India and sponsored by the Diageo India organized a ‘Seminar on Drunk Driving’ at MRIU Campus to educate students about ‘Road Safety. We conducted this event at MRIU Campus in A Block Audi. on Monday 31st Aug 2015 from 10.30 am to 1 pm. Students of FET, FCH, FMeS and FCA attended this programme.
Mr. Arun Pahwa, visiting faculty of Indian Institute of Road Traffic, Faridabad gave an interesting presentation depicting the disadvantages of driving under the influence of alcohol. He discussed the myths and basic traffic rules which are not much discussed among teenagers.
An interactive session was conducted where Mr. Arun Pahwa asked students various questions related to alcohol and its affects and why it should not be consumed.
At the end of the Seminar a Quiz competition was scheduled to check if the audience grasped the points discussed. The competition consisted of various rounds to make the competition even more challenging. Out of Six teams Khushbu and Sameer of FCH were the winners of the quiz, they were awarded a cash prize of Rs 3000 ; Sameeya and Saarthak of FET were runner-ups and were awarded with Rs.2000.
