Risk and Behaviour Assessment of Indian Traffic
Department of Computer Science, Manav Rachna University, organized a Seminar in Distinguished Seminar Series on “Working of Transcranial Doppler”. The resource person for the special talk was Mr. Joseph Adlin, Founder & President of Rimed Ltd. He is an Electrical Engineer, who graduated from Technion University in Israel, followed by an MBA from Tel Aviv University.
It was an interactive and informative session which was centred on the Transcranial Doppler (TCD) systems that have dominated the market for more than 40 years. This session’s aim was to guide aspiring doctors and engineers on the potential for global health infrastructure growth. Dr. Himanshu Arora, Neurosurgeon, Max Hospital Faridabad was the guest of session. Prof. Dr. AK Pandey, Dean ESIC hospitals discussed the theme of talk and presented valuable insights about the Cerebrovascular diseases.
Afterwards, the speaker Mr. Joseph Adlin and Mr. Mayank Gaur illustrated following areas during the session.
- Establishments of Rimed Ltd. – first to create PC-based Peripheral Vascular Doppler, proposed the customisable “summary screen idea” and developed Auto Track software for the automated tracking of Doppler Signals.
- Discussion on current TCD Products Digi-Lite, Digi-One, Digi Lite + IP, LMY-3 Head-Set and their advantages.
- Clinical Applications associated with these devices like Monitoring during Surgery, PFO (Patent Foramen Ovale) detection, Vasomotor Reactivity test (VMR) and so on.
- Mr. Mayank Gaur exhibited one of TCD’s products, Digi-Lite. He described all of the qualities it provides, such as being user-friendly, intuitive, and simple to use for monitoring blood flow velocity in the brain’s major arteries. He also described the full spectrum of probes available, which includes 1 MHz, 2 MHz, 4 MHz, 8 MHz, and 16 MHz probes, each with a separate connector. It structures a very sensitive doppler, 8 spectrums presented in 8 distinct depths, and accurate rapid detection of abnormalities. He demonstrated how TCD works by showing us when blood is moving away from or towards the bone using blue and red signals.
In the end, in the intimate engagement with rounds of questions, participants showed strong concern for the subject and received positive feedback from the panel.
