Report of Industrial visit to Rosa Thermal Power Plant, Shahjahanpur (U.P.) on 17-10-2016

An industrial visit to Rosa Thermal Power Plant, Shahjahanpur (U.P.) was organized by the department on 16-10-2016 (Sunday) to 17-10-2016 (Monday) for 28 students of Automobile Engineering and Aeronautical Engineering ( List attached). Mr. Sunny Bhatia and Mr. Paramjeet Singh (Asst. Prof. Auto) accompanied the students from gate no 1 of MRIU at 11:00 AM on 16-10-2016 and entered Rosa Power Supply Company Limited (RPSCL) campus at 09:00 PM on same day. The group was received by the team of Mr. Chandra Shekhar, Asst. Vice President, RPSCL where they took the group to Field Hostel for night stay.
On 17th October 2016, from 09:00 to 11:30 a.m, a brief introduction through presentation about simulator training was delivered by Mr. Chandra Shekhar, Asst. Vice President, RPSCL. It was very learning and interactive session for students.
From 11:30 a.m to 01:15 p.m, the visiting team was taken to plant visit where students group was divided into two groups and visited Coal handling plant, Boiler –Turbine-Generator sections.After the visit to the plant, the whole batch again gathered around 1:45 p.m and the group was taken to company canteen for lunch led by RPSCL team and after lunch the group departed for MRIU at 02:30PM and reached the campus on 18th October 2015 at 02:00 a.m.
Overall it was very learning experience and this kind of visit will definitely help the students to understand various technical aspects and application of subjects’ viz. Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer and Power Plant.

• Coal consumption 5.4 MTPA.

• Efficiency of plant: 35-37 %.
