Report on ‘Hour of Code’ Event
Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Manav Rachna International University, hosted a global event called ‘Hour of Code’, in association with MRIU ACM Student Chapter at the Manav Rachna Campus. The ‘Hour of Code’, which is part of ‘Computer Science Education Week’, celebrated during December each year globally, aims to introduce more than 10 million students of all ages to the basics of coding, and to underscore the critical role of computing in all careers.
The mélange of events and activities, be it IT Scramble, Tech Hallmark, Keyboard Freeze, Treasure Hunt and many more, captured the true essence of the event. More than 170 students, aging from 4 to 25 years, of schools as well as colleges across Delhi-NCR, such as DAV Institute of Management, Faridabad; Modern Delhi Public School, Faridabad; Manav Rachna International School, Sector 14, Faridabad; Manav Rachna International School, Sector 21, Faridabad; Manav Rachna International School, Charmwood, Faridabad; Manav Rachna International School, Gurugram, participated and witnessed the first-of-its kind ‘Hour of Code’.
Students showcased their creative talent and programming skills by performing remarkably in these competitions. The best performers were awarded with certificates and prizes.
