Rendezvous with Woman Civil Engineers to celebrate International Women in Engineering Day

Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Technology organized Rendezvous with Woman Civil Engineers to celebrate International Women in Engineering Day on June 23, 2020. The day aims to celebrate the performance of women engineers and nurture the new generation of young women Engineers. The theme for this year was Shape the World. Going with the theme, Department of Civil Engineering conceptualized and planned to conduct this event and invited women Civil Engineers from industry, women alumni, past and present faculty members and presently enrolled and aspiring students.
The guest speakers from industry who have already broken the barriers and excelled in the field of Civil Engineering were Ms. Jyotsana Dixit (DGM, RITES Ltd), Ms. Ruchi Mittal (Senior Manager, Ramprastha Promoters and Developers Pvt Ltd), Ms. Rama Pandey (Senior Structure Engineer, Ramboll India Ltd), Dr. Tanvi Singh (HOD, CED, PIET, Panipat), Ms. Chhavi Solanki (Assistant Professor, CED, JECRC University, Jaipur) and Ms. Raj Rajeshwari (Assistant Professor, CED , Mumbai University). They shared their experience and raised awareness about brilliant career opportunities and flexible career paths available for girls in this field.
Dr. Geeta Nijhawan, Associate Dean, FET encouraged all women with her words of wisdom along with good wishes and blessings.
More than 40 students participated in the event. They wholeheartedly celebrated the spirit of Women in Engineering Day. Dr. Sunita Bansal and Ms. Anjali Gupta were the faculty coordinators for the event.
