Three-day Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp at Manav Rachna concluded with great takeaways!

To spread awareness among the students about various facts of entrepreneurship and the journey, a three-day Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp was organized at Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies from 26th Sept’18 to 28th Sept’18. The camp was supported by Department of Science and Technology, GOI under the DST-NIMAT Scheme. Participants included Manav Rachna students, faculties and students from other institutions. The three-day affair was replete with sessions by industry experts on entrepreneurship and its various aspects. A motivational and creative touch was given to the camp on the third day by Dr. Sanjay Srivastava, MD-MREI and VC, Manav Rachna University.
Dr. Pradeep K. Varshney, Professor & Director- MRIIC informed the participants about the start-ups incubated at Manav Rachna campus and the support provided in this regard. He also reiterated the funding of Rs 2.67 crore to New Gen IEDC to accelerate its activities for encouraging research, innovation and entrepreneurship among students.
Mr. Gaurav Kachru, Founder & MD, Deals and You apprised the students of various concepts of entrepreneurship. He introduced the concept of innovative and replicative entrepreneurs. Sessions on ‘Historical background-Indian values vis-a-vis Entrepreneurship and the present scenario’ and ‘Identification of Opportunities for Entrepreneurs’ were also conducted.
The second day started with a motivational, interactive and highly energetic session by Mr. Karan Narula who spoke on Financial aspects of SSI Unit including the salient features of a project report. With great enthusiasm and intellect, Mr. Arun Sharma, Founder-Zenith Hospitals explained the technical & commercial aspects of SSI unit. He said, “Entrepreneurship is a journey and you become an entrepreneur during the process”.
Dr. Bindu Agrawal led students to an entertaining yet educational session on financial aspects of SSI unit including salient features of a project report. Towards the end of the day, Mr. Anupam Anand from SIDBI briefed the students on support and financial assistance from Govt. agencies, banks, financial institutions, SFCs and others-securities demanded by FIs/banks, etc.
Dr. Sanjay Srivastava spoke on ‘Creativity and business- the man behind the venture- the behavioral scientist’s approach’. He apprised the students of the five resources essential to an entrepreneur- Information, People, Physical Resource, Money and Time. Dr. Srivastava said that a well-informed entrepreneur does wonders in life, and APT (automatic positive thoughts) should empower ANT (automatic negative thoughts). ‘Certain level of anxiety is important to perform well’, he said.
Mr. Nitesh Shankar, AGM, Career Skills conducted a session on ‘Communication Skills for better results’.
An industrial visit to Indication Instruments Ltd. was also planned for the students wherein Mr. Vishal Lalani interacted with the students and shared the success stories of entrepreneurs, and the common problems faced by the entrepreneurs.
Various rejuvenating activities were also conducted which included prizes for the participants, knowledge and entertainment as well. Participation certificates were provided to all the participants.
