Press Release: Open Shooting Championship-2019 at Manav Rachna
More than 400 shooters from across the country participated in 10 mtr Air Rifle and Pistol events at the four-day long (May 5- May 8)Manav Rachna Open Shooting Championship organized at Manav Rachna Shooting Academy, Faridabad.
The Championship was held across 4 categories: Excellence, Category 1, Category 2 and Category 3. Top two shooters from each category went to the finals where they played 20 shots without elimination. With a Unique Concept and a new Format, the Championship gave a fair chance to each Shooter from the beginner to the elite level to win the Grand Prize.
14 year old Samrat Rana won the 10 m pistol event and took home a brand new Renault Kwid. 21 year old English (Hons.) student AshiRastogi won the 10m Air Rifle event and a Renault Kwid. The grand prizes were given away by Ace Shooters Heena Sidhu, RonakPandit, RonjanSodhi and Dr. Amit Bhalla, VP, Manav Rachna Educational Institutions.
Dr. Amit Bhalla shared how Manav Rachna has been actively engaged in development activities for the Youth as well as the Society through various Sports and Cultural Events. He said: “In the coming years, I am confident that Manav Rachna will play a significant role in getting an Olympic medal for the country”.
Manav Rachna Centre of Excellence for Pistol Shooting in association with Ronal Pandit and Heena Sidhu was launched on the occasion. The Centre shall train naive learners to take up Pistol Shootingas a profession. This is a big opportunity for youngsters from North India to take up Shooting as a career and for those who are passionate for shooting.
