Press Release: MoU between MRU, Altair Engineering and Design Tech Systems to establish a Centre of Excellence
US based Altair (NASDAQ:ALTR), a global technology company providing solutions in product development, high performance computing and data intelligence and its Indian execution partner Design Tech Systems signed a tri-party MoU with Manav Rachna University (MRU) today. The MoU was signed by Mr. Pavan Kumar, Sr Vice President, Global Channel Sales, AltairEngineering and Dr. I K Bhat, VC, MRU in the presence of Dr. Prashant Bhalla, President, Manav Rachna Educational Institutions (MREI); Dr. Sanjay Srivastava, MD, MREI; Mr. Vikas Khanvelkar, MD, DesignTech Systems; Dr N C Wadhwa, DG, MREI; Dr. M MKathuria, Trustee, MREI and other senior dignitaries from Altair Engineering and MREI.
The MoU entails the setting up of a Centre of Excellence (CoE) which will have world-class infrastructure facility to work on CAE related projects. This is the first such CoE at a University in North India.
Manav Rachna University will conduct formal courses (part of the curriculum) for students. It will also offer regular short-term training programs as per the needs of the industry.
The Centre of Excellence will undertake:
- Training in formal subjects at graduate and post-graduate level
- Laboratory classes
- Joint research projects
- Short-term and Continuing Education Programs
- Induction Training for new recruits of Altair Engineering
Mr. Pavan Kumar said: “These initiatives are designed to use technological solutions and resources to better align technical institutes with industry requirements, by making undergraduate and postgraduate students industry ready, and boosting innovation skills. Altair offers many programs to foster and promote the engineering discipline through real-world experience and skills.”
Altair has been supporting various education and research initiatives under its Global Skill and Innovation development initiative to harness the technical education eco-system through its experience in the industrial products and services.
