Press Release: Legal luminaries preside over the third Advisory Board meeting
- Gold medal for overall excellence to be instituted
- A center of excellence on alternate dispute resolution shall be instituted at the campus
The third advisory board meeting of the Faculty of Law, Manav Rachna University (MRU) was convened today. Legal luminaries comprise the Advisory Board of the Faculty to advise, guide and mentor the law program.
Hon’ble Justice R.C. Lahoti, Former Chief Justice of India chaired the meeting in the august presence of Hon’ble Justice Amitava Roy, Former Judge, Supreme Court of India; Dr. Prashant Bhalla, President, MREI; Justice K.K. Lahoti (Former Acting Chief Justice, Hon’ble High Court of MP); Justice Kailash Gambhir (Former Judge, Hon’ble High Court of Delhi); Mr. P. K. Malhotra, Former Law Secy., GOI; Mr.Jasbir Singh Bajaj (IAS); Mr. Ravindra Srivastav (Senior Counsel); Mr.Sanjeev Sharma (Senior Counsel); Mr. Ashok Gupta (Senior Counsel); Mr. R. K. Bajaj, Former Chief Commissioner – IT; Mr. Shashank Garg – Partner, Advani & Co.; Dr. Sanjay Srivastava, VC MRU; and Dr. N.C. Wadhwa, VC MRIIRS.
The Chairman of the Advisory Board, Justice R C Lahoti informed that MRU will institute a ‘Gold Medal for excellence’ at the Faculty of Law. Further deliberations and discussions culminated into several significant developments, the most prominent being the Establishment of ‘Centre of Excellence on Alternative Dispute Resolution’ for training, orientation, education and Research as well as a robust Legal Internship and Placement Cell with an objective to create synergies with renowned Law firms, Advocates and Corporate firms.
