Manav Rachna International Institute of Research & Studies, Faridabad has always been a front runner in providing a helping hand to any public initiative and community service. Continuing this tradition, DEPARTMENT OF PHYSIOTHERAPY organized a FREE HEALTH ASSESSMENT CAMP in association with Sarvodaya Hospital at the institute premises.
The camp was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor, MRIIRS, Dr. N. C. Wadhwa. The camp included free medical consultation, cardiology screening, orthopedic consultation and physiotherapy and nutrition advice. The assessment included ECG monitoring, blood sugar measurement, BP measurement, Body Mass Index (BMI), oxygen saturation, Flexibility testing. In addition to it, BMD was also checked.
The team of professionals included Dr. Madhurima Gupta (Internal Medicine, Sarvodya Hospital, Faridabad), Dr. Gaurav (Assistant Orthopaedician, Sarvodya Hospital) along with Volunteers from physiotherapy department, Nurses and ECG technicians. Dr. Shishir Nigam (PT) and Dr. Preeti lead the team from Manav Rachna that included PG and UG students from Physiotherapy and Nutrition & Dietetics Departments.
120 patients were assessed, advised and counseled. Large number of people who were part of the camp included Middle aged individuals who were having basic fitness issues related to cardiovascular and musculoskeletal system like knee, back & neck pain. In addition, a workshop on aerial yoga was also organized for the faculty of Manav Rachna and students. The resource person for the event was Mr. Ziley Mawai who is also celebrity trainer and ex personal trainer of Mr. Tiger Shroff. Along with camp and the workshop, ERGONOMIC EVALUATION WEEK is being conducted from 1 September to 7 Sep 18 for the employees of the Institution for the very first time. A team from Department of Physiotherapy comprising of MPT and BPT final year students are going to the desks of various faculty members for evaluation.
A workshop by AYUDH was also organized in the campus today.
