Press Release: Asian Hospital lifts the Champions Trophy of the 12th Manav Rachna Corporate Cricket Cup
The 12th edition of the Manav Rachna Corporate Cricket Challenge Cup came to a close today with Asian Hospital winning the final match against Honda. The closing ceremony of the 12thManav Rachna Corporate Cricket Challenge Cup 2019 was presided by Dr B K Sinha, IPS, DG, Civil Defense & Bhondsi Complex (additional charge); Padma Shri Dr. N K Pandey, Chairman, Asian Hospital; Dr. Prashant Bhalla, President, MREI; Dr. Amit Bhalla, Vice President, MREI; Dr. Sanjay Srivastava, MD, MREI; Mr. Sarkar Talwar, Director, Sports, MREI; and other senior dignitaries.
Asian Hospital won the toss and elected to bat first. The team scored 277 runs at the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. The team of Honda Motorcycles could score only 210 runs in 18.1 overs. Mr. Karan from Asian Hospital was declared as the ‘Man of the Match’; Mr. Rohan Rana from Asian was awarded as the Best Batsman of the tournament; Mr. Amit Yadav from Honda Motorcycles became the best bowler of the tournament; Mr. Vikrant Gupta from Aaj Tak was declared the Best Player of the tournament; The Fair Play trophy was lifted by Aaj Tak.
The Cup, instituted in the memory of Founder Visionary Dr O P Bhalla follows the belief that sports inculcate life-long skills, camaraderie and bonding among players. A 30 second silence was observed in the memory of Dr. O P Bhalla at the beginning of the final match.
The Champion’s Trophy was received by the team of Asian Hospital in the presence of its Chairman Padma Shri Dr. N K Pandey who was present throughout the match to cheer his team. An ecstatic Dr. Pandey dedicated the Champion’s Trophy to Dr O P Bhalla.
