Presentation on cashless transactions by Department of Students Welfare, MRIU in association with Punjab National Bank
On 8th November 2016, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Sh. Narendra Modi announced the demonetization of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 Notes, ceasing them on being a legal tender. Since then, there have been numerous amends, changes, and restrictions. Going forth, frictionless banking and monetary transactions was only available by going cashless. In the same context, a presentation on cashless transactions was organized by Department of Students Welfare, MRIU in association with Punjab National Bank.
On 20th December, 2016 a Promotional Campaign on Cashless Transactions was held wherein Faculty and Staff members from various faculties attended the presentation, learning about the recent developments in Banking transactions and relevant details. Mr. Rajeev Atreya, Senior Faculty, PNB IT Centre began the elaboration by talking about Debit Cards – RuPay and RuPay Platinum, and Credit Cards and the various charges. Ms. Suman Manocha, Sr. Faculty, PNB IT Centre, talked about the new PNB UPI Application, which helps in seamless transactions over the mobile application. She even elaborated on PNB Wallet, which is an E – Wallet and can be used for cashless payments over different vendors.
Going forward, PNB and Team DSW would be visiting village Mohana on 22nd December, 2016 to promote and popularize cashless transaction opportunities.
