International Education Centre organized a Panel Discussion with Western Sydney University (WSU), Australia to promote and increase awareness of the articulation program established between MRIIRS and WSU. The audience comprised FMeH faculties and students and 12th class students and teachers of MRIS.

The expert panelists of the day were:-

Professor Peter Hutchings: Dean, School of Humanities and Communication Arts and Pro-Vice-Chancellor – Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences

Prof. Jacki Montgomery: Director of Academic Programs for Bachelor of Communication, Bachelor of Creative Industries and Bachelor of Screen Media

Dr. Myra Gurney: Course Adviser for the Bachelor of Communication and Bachelor of Screen Media

Ms. Leonie Patrick: WSU Director of International Student Recruitment

Ms. Namrata Anand: Senior Manager, Recruitment and Operations, South Asia

Dr. Asha Chand: Associate Dean International, School of Humanities and Communication Arts

The panel discussion started by Professor Peter Hutchings with a brief introduction about western Sydney University, the programs they offered and given an insight into their university.

Prof. Jacki Montgomery and Dr. Myra Gurney had apprised all the participants that how WSU shall provide academic support in terms of course details and delivery during the first year of this program at MRIIRS through the faculty members of WSU Australia. Dr. Asha Chand Added that those students who shall be moving to WSU, Australia in their 2nd year of this program with the transfer of credits and completes their 2nd and 3rd year shall be awarded the degree of Bachelor of Communication of the WSU, Australia.

Dr. Asha Chand also highlighted the areas of collaborations which include the exchange of undergraduate and graduate students, exchange of faculty and staff members, joint research, and many more. Most importantly she spoke about those aspiring students who have passed their Grade 12 this year and want to move abroad for their further studies but due to this COVID -19 pandemic situations they may not be able to join overseas universities this year. She added that if student students study their first year at MRIIRS then in their 2nd year they can move to WSU, Australia with earned credits.
