Orientation Programme of MRIU concludes with enthusiasm
Orientation Programme of MRIU draws to a close as students gain exposure to a dynamic spectrum of activities in the new Academic Session.
The freshers of Manav Rachna International University (MRIU) have truly got to familiarize with the Institution, thanks to the Orientation programmes that were organized with the commencement of the Academic Session of 2017.
Department of Students’ Welfare was delighted to have an interaction with the new students of FET on 13th July 2017.The students were welcomed by the coordinator Students’ Welfare, Ms. Himani Saraswat, and given a brief about the cultural events in the previous years through an audio visual and introduced the Societies and Coordinators of cultural societies of Manav Rachna.
These societies are Aarekh, which represents Arts Society, Mridaksh – dance society; Paigam – Theatre Society and Manav Rachna’s Music Society.
Also, the Society working for the Heritage of India or National Service Scheme was introduced. Students were delighted to hear about the social work we did in previous years.
Dr I.K. Killam, Dean Students Welfare, welcomed the new students and shared his thoughts with them and motivated them to take active part in different extra-curricular activities, as are of interest to them. Vyom and Diksha from MRIDAKSH performed a well-choreographed dance number, Meenal and Niharika from Aarekh, did a Live Art depiction of a Dreamcatcher, and Leena from music society did a live acoustic performance, and Himanshu and Sankalp from Paigam performed a duo drama to showcase what they learned in these societies.
Siddhant Bhama, Yashiya Hasija and Dr. Gaurav Nagar, Festival Coordinators of the Annual Cultural Fest, Resurrection through various videos and clippings of our previous years. Ronze, the official mascot of Resurrection interacted with the students and played a dare game with them.
Ms. Gurjeet Kaur Chawla, Associate Dean Students’ Welfare and Clan Chief of Water Sharks explained the significance and importance of the Clan System and briefed the students about the working process while introducing them with their clans and responsibilities and mottos as Clan members.
A Talent Hunt for the fresher’s was organised in which many students participated, danced, sang songs, mimicked and even played instruments.
