Orientation Programme: Engineering & Non-Engineering
Second week of Orientation Programme at Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies (MRIIRS, Formerly MRIU) is replete with department modules and guest lectures. The students have a glistening opportunity to interact with the industry experts. For engineering students, it was a day of indoor sports, and literary activities (GD, Extempore and Ad Mad). Students were all thrilled to play and learn!
Non-engineering students were given lessons on Adobe and a session on English Proficiency which was followed by the department modules. Faculty of Commerce and Business Studies invited Mr. Pullock Bhattacharjee, Vice President of Bombay Stock Exchange Institute Pvt. Ltd. He interacted with the students and talked about stock market and financial market scenario at country and international level. Faculty of Applied Sciences organized an expert talk on “Future perspectives of Nutrition and Dietetics and Allied Sciences” by Dr. Shraddha Chauhan, Research Officer, The Inclen Trust International. She stressed on challenges faced by beginners to become an established nutritionist.
On the other hand, Faculty of Computer Applications also organized an expert talk on ‘Software Development’ by Mr. Dewakar Mahendru, Assistant Vice President, Business Solution Head in Holostik, Noida. He shared facts about software development and discussed about various contemporary techniques to build and monitor IT based solutions.
Guest lectures on ‘Public Relations and Corporate Communication Skills’ and ‘Effective Communication Skills, Personality Development and Grooming’ were planned by Faculty of Media Studies and Humanities which were conducted by Mr. Naresh Kumar, Asst. GM, Corporate Communications (POWERGRID) and Ms. Poonam Batra, Senior Manager, Training and Administration, Meyhar Bhasin Academy respectively.
Mr. Rahi Chadha, a London based entrepreneur and a famous model, delivered a talk on the future vision of the students. He is also the founder of Panache and Marina Skin and Aesthetic Clinic. He discussed about determining aim in life and work towards attainment of the decided goal. He ended his talk by emphasizing on the importance of physical, psychological and mental health.
Mr. Vishal Sehgal, Managing Director of Nischay Educorp was invited for a session at Faculty of Management Studies. He delivered his talk for the freshers on “How they can enhance their MBA experience”. His talk covered various key aspects of MBA and he emphasized on working in groups, approach to case study and making stories, thinking and reading. His advice to students to be a good MBA professional: Be authentic, Do the ‘Uncomfortable’ and Surrender the Outcome.
It was a day full of informative and interactive lectures and talks which were very beneficial for the students.
