Orientation Programme- Engineering (Day 5) & Non Engineering (Day 3)
The induction programme of Engineering and non-Engineering students started with the departmental presentation by the respective Heads. The presentation was designed to guide the students of engineering department for their 4-year journey ahead in the campus. The students were apprised of the computer hardware technologies. PC Hardware session was about the introduction to PC architecture and basic troubleshooting skills. The students also attended the Module of Foundation course of Mathematics beneficial for their program and English, in which the students learnt about the interpersonal and intrapersonal skills. The last session of departmental activity was about the usage of Google Doc, where students created online Google doc with their Gmail account.
After the first session with HOD; the Second session of non-engineering students was corporate talk. For Law, Prof. Dr. Jose Verghese, Professor Emeritus, Faculty of Law conducted the session. For management students, Mr. Dennis Whitney, Senior Vice President, Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), USA; Mr. Jim Piechowski, Director International Operations, IMA, Ms Lata Murli, Business Relations Manager, IMA and Mr. Fenil Vadakken, Country Head, IMA conducted the session and apprised the students of the certifications available and features of BBA- Finance and Accounts program which is Chartered Management Accountants, USA Integrated and is offered in partnership with Institute of Management Accountants, USA.
A talk on ‘Version 2.0 of yourself’ was organized for the students of Faculty of Education wherein students shared their fears. Faculties apprised them of how the program will help them overcome. Ms Sanyogita Sharma, Director-MRIS and Faculty of Education shared need for global facilitators.
A gender sensitization talk for both engineering and non-engineering students was conducted by Mr. Dexter Sam, Head of Education, Team Commotion and Mr Ashish, Head of Media, Team Commotion shared information on problem of gender injustice in our nation along with various facts and figures.
AMCAT English proficiency test was also conducted by the Corporate Relations and Career Management Cell through which their cognition, vocational, and leadership skills were assessed.
