Olympic Level Shooting Range Inaugurated At The Manav Rachna Campus
Since inception, Manav Rachna Educational Institutions (MREI) have been promoting the cause of sports across the country. MREI has invested deeply in its sports infrastructure and has been the grooming ground for many National and International champions across diverse sports. An Olympic standard Shooting Range (10 meters) was inaugurated today at the MREI campus by Sh. Raninder Singh, President, National Rifle Association of India (NRAI).
Replete with state-of-the-art shooting infrastructure under the guidance of ace international coaches, this shooting range in the only ISSF (International Shooting Sport Federation) Academy accredited training centre in India. Smt. Satya Bhalla, Chief Patron, MREI; Dr. Prashant Bhalla, President, MREI; Dr. Amit Bhalla, VP, MREI; ace shooters Ronjan Sodhi, Jitu Rai, Chain Singh, and Mr. Sarkar Talwar, Director Sports, MREI were also present on the occasion. The shooting range has two 10 meter ranges (one with 14 manual targets and the other with 8 electronic targets). World renowned shooters Daniel Di Spigno (four-time world champion) and Rustam Yambulatov (silver medalist of the 1980 Olympic Games) are among the elite list of shooting coaches at Manav Rachna.
The Perazzi lounge at the Manav Rachna Shooting Range is a key attraction for shooters who have to usually import shooting accessories from Italy. With the presence of Perazzi at the Manav Rachna campus, the shooters can now get all their shooting accessories, right here in India.
While inaugurating the shooting range, Sh. Raninder Singh said: “Shooting is the fastest growing sport in India. We selected Manav Rachna for the ISSF Academy program because of the synergy between the education system at Manav Rachna and what we are trying to achieve for the sport of shooting. The efforts of your team are path-breaking. Shooting is a passion driven sport and NRAI and MREI have jointly worked to take this passion to a new level.”
Dr. Prashant Bhalla said: “Our passion for the Sport is perhaps best reflected through the state-of-art infrastructure at our 12 shooting ranges; the dedicated coaching provided by National and International level coaches; and our close association with some of the best shooting tournaments that remain etched in the history of the Sport! More than 3000 students have been training with us across our shooting ranges under the guidance of champion shooters. We are hopeful that this facility will be a good support for our budding shooters”.
A 10-point shooting competition between students who have been training at Manav Rachna was also organized on the occasion.
