Manav Racha University NPTEL Local Chapter organised a NPTEL Awareness Workshop to promote Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) for the faculty members and students. The session was conducted by Professor Satyaki Roy, National Coordinator for NPTEL, Media Technology Centre, IIT Kanpur. Also present during the workshop was Ms. Anjana Sen Gupta, NPTEL Local Chapter coordinator, IIT Kanpur.

Prof. Satyaki Roy gave a brief introduction of NPTEL followed by its journey till now. He explained, “NPTEL is a project funded by Ministry of Human Resource Development, provides e-learning through online web and video courses in Engineering, Sciences, Technology, Management and Humanities. This is a joint initiative by seven IITs and IIS Bangalore. NPTEL provides course ware in the form of video lectures and weekly assignments with the certification at the end.. ”

MRU offers various B.Tech/M.Tech courses through MOOCs platform. Students who have successfully cleared certificates  for Jan-April 2018 session were also awarded certificates by Prof. Satyaki Roy. The workshop was culminated with the vote of thanks by university NPTEL coordinator, Ms Manpreet Kaur.
