MRU Life Skills Program: Literary & Performing Arts Activities, and Fine Arts Workshop
In order to keep the students engaged and trained for the passion they pursue and to promote Institution Social Responsibilities (ISR), Clans were formulated at Manav Rachna campus. To strengthen the Clan activities, Institution Wise slots were allocated for all five verticals such that Literary, Cultural, Sports, Media and ISR. Manav Rachna Life Skills Program was conducted for students at Manav Rachna University recently which included dance auditions and fine arts workshop.
There were two rounds for dance auditions which were adjudged by Ms. Ananana and Mr. Gianander, Assistant Professors, MRU; Mr Subrohjeet and Mr Yashumeel, Dance Heads- MRIDAKSH; and Mr Sanjeev and Mr Dhanajay, Dance Team Members- MRU. Three students- Lizal, Santosh, and Aditya were selected for MRU Dance Team.
This was followed by a Fine Arts Workshop: Illustrator which was divided into three stages starting with Human face followed by hands, complete body construction and still life. This workshop was organized to enhance the creativity skills of the students.
Literary society of MRU conducted a Speech Marathon- A prepared speech contest. These contests helped students to come out of their comfort zone and inspire the audience by their life stories, social issues and words of wisdom. Students spoke on topics like Motivation, Power of Why, Reservation, etc. Dr Shivani Vashisht and Mr Ram Chatterjee were the judges for the event. Gauri, Muskan and Nishant were the winners of the Speech Marathon.
Students also participated in various sports activities- Cricket, Basketball, Volleyball, Table Tennis, Badminton, Squash, Football, And they were trained by the following coaches: Mrs. Suman Sihag- Basketball & Squash; Mr. Kuldeep Kumar- Cricket; Mr. Om Prakash- Volleyball; Mr. Ombir Singh – Table Tennis; Mr. Anil Rawat- Badminton; and Mr. Joginder Sharma : Sports Office.
