MRU and Quick Heal Technologies join hands to offer program in Cyber Security & Threat Intelligence
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed today between Manav Rachna University (MRU) and Quick Heal Technologies to offer B.Tech. Computer Science & Engineering with specialization in Cyber Security and Threat Intelligence program, with effect from the academic session 2020.
The MoU was signed between Prof. I K Bhat, Vice Chancellor, MRU and Mr. Kuldeep Raina, Global Head-Sales, Quick Heal Technologies, in the presence of Mr. Vishal, Director – Cyber Education & Services, Quick Heal Technologies; Prof. Sanjay Srivastava, MD, MREI; Prof. Sangita Banga, Dean Academics, MRU; Dr. Kameshwar, Registrar, MRU; Prof. Hanu Bhardwaj, Head, CST, MRU & Prof Jyoti Pruthi, Assoc Head, CST, MRU; among other senior dignitaries from the two organisations.
As per a recentNASSCOM report, India alone would need 1 million cyber security professionals by 2020. The B.Tech. CSE program with specialization in Cyber Security and Threat Intelligence shall prepare an employable workforce to address this gap. The curriculum design and course material will be delivered by industry experts from Quick Heal Academy. Regular Tech-Talks, Webinars and Seminars by experts shall be organized during the program. Quick Heal shall also be providing Placement & Internship support to the students pursuing the program.
While addressing students on the occasion, Mr. Kuldeep Raina said: “This MoU shall be the first such interface between industry and academia in the field of cyber security. Capacity Building, Skill Development and Training are the key towards creating a skilled workforce of Cyber Security professionals.”
Prof. I K Bhat shared similar sentiments. He said: “The Data Security Council of India, in May 2019 reported that India saw the second highest number of cyber-attacks between 2016 and 2018. We are confident that the signing of this MoU shall provide our students and faculty members more opportunities in the field of Cyber Security and Threat Intelligence.”
