MBA students undergo certification programme with University of Newcastle, Australia
Faculty of Management Studies provides platforms for students to prepare them for the globalized world, where business is fast becoming integrated. In this endeavor, FMS organized a certification programme in strategic management, in association with University of Newcastle, Australia.
Prof. Nimay Kalyani, Head- International Relations (South Asia) at the Faculty of Business and Law (FBL) took up the programme for first year MBA students recently. Prof. Kalyani specializes in the areas of Strategic Management, Decision making under uncertainty and Change Management. With a career spanning over 23 years, he has been in the field of academia and industry for the last 23 years. He has compiled a book in Business Decision Making that combines quantitative and qualitative methods of decision making.
During the module on strategic management, Prof. Kalyani discussed about new age organizations and traditional organizations, but emphasized how a strong foundation, values and belief systems may lead to sustenance. The pedagogy built on examples across industries and markets, making students intrigued and engaged.
During his stay at MR campus, Prof. Kalyani conducted a three day faculty development programme on ‘Business Strategies for the VUCA World’, which was attended by nearly 25 participants. He guided faculty members on how market dynamics may be built into pedagogy. Prof. Kalyani provided insights regarding course curriculum, research publications, accreditations etc. He participated in MRCON 2020 (conference organized by FMS), actively discussing research ideas as put forth through the papers presented at the conference.
Prof. Nimay Kalyani spent a fortnight at MRIIRS, laying foundation for further association between MRIIRS and University of Newcastle, in various areas of academic and cultural exchange.
